Schwartz completed his undergraduate studies in 1975, graduating from the University of Vermont with a Bachelors degree in Psychology.
He then went on to Dental school at the State University of New York, where he graduated in 1979 with Thesis Honors.
In 1980 Dr.
Schwartz also received a Masters degree in Oral Biology from the State University of New York.
Following his Masters degree, he continued to pursue education and in 1981 and 1983 he attained Specialty Certificates in Pediatric Dentistry from Buffalo Children’s Hospital and Orthodontics from the University of Maryland..

During his 30 years of practicing Orthodontics, Dr.
Schwartz has published several research papers, including the April, 1983 Journal of Pediatrics article “Effects of Psychological Preparation on Children Hospitalized for Dental Operations,” and a March, 1984 Journal of Cleft Palate piece titled “Early Prediction of Occlusion in Unilateral Cleft Lip and Palate Patients.” The American Association of Public Health Dentists has honored him with the First Place Merit Award in Community Dentistry..
