The foundation was of the college was led on 17th July , 1995 in the memory of two eminent Bengali literatures namely Salilajananda Mukhopadhyay and Falguni Mukhopadhyay of this locality.

It got its affiliation to the University of Burdwan on 17th August , 1998 and offers three years degree course of Arts faculty in different Honurs and General subjects as per the syllabus of the university..
