I would like to take a minute to tell you the reason why I have taken the time to write and work on this project. This is basically a channel to share some of my story and my experiences and hopefully help and inspire you to travel and to explore the world. Something beautiful happens to ones self in the process of learning and realizing that we are not alone, nor are we the only ones that matter. You become a lot more educated but also also become more compassionate and more tolerant of others. I have grown up in the land of opportunity. Tons of people will never be awarded the opportunities I have been given. When you have opportunity you can direct your own life. If you happen to have the gift of health all you have to do is open your eyes, get rid of fear, set a goal and go for it.. . Growing up in New York City I was heavily influenced by the world around me in the fashion industry and I decided to pursue a career in hair styling. At the time it seemed simple and attainable and as soon as I graduated I realized I wanted to do something extraordinary with my career. So, I went right to Bergdorf Goodman on 57th Street and 5th Avenue. Little did I know that this would forever change my life. After working on super high profile clients like Nancy Reagan, Kim Bassinger, Martha Stewart, Calvin Klein, The Ralph Lauren Family, Anna Nicole Smith, Mrs. Betsy Bloomingdale, Sandy Galan, who was Michael Jackson’s manager for years, Nan Kempner, who was a big socialite in New York at the time, Queen Nora from Jordan, being invited to a private party at David Bowie’s apartment and of course working New York fashion week working for many high profile designers like Georgio Armani, CK and a few more, meeting Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, just to mention a few, I realized I was in an amazing place and again was awarded the opportunity to learn a great deal.. . While working with these people whose lives seemed to be so amazing and hearing how they travel the world, I went and opened my own business. After working hard and building an amazing company with the help of the people around me who believed in me enough to become part of my life and my journey I realized that, again, I have been awarded a new opportunity. Now was the time that I would be able to travel and explore the world. Or at least a lot of it.. . I usually put a sign at my work station letting people know when I’m going to be out so they know when I’m at work and when I’m not. I noticed a lot of people would get very excited to talk about my journeys and not only that but a lot of those people would ask me for my opinion as to where to go and where to stay. So I came up with the idea of sharing my experiences with whoever wanted to know in a more formal or more organized way.. . In this site you will only find places that I find special in some way, shape or form. Even though it has the blog feel I will only feature places that I feel are amazing. I will never write anything negative or derogatory about any place or establishment. Of course I have been to enough places I didn’t love but those wont be included on this site because I want it to be special and full of positive energy. . . I hope you find it both informative and positive.. . Yes, there are many other places in the world that are probably better and more chic but I can only speak of what I can afford to do and the type of environment that I’m personally attracted to. I usually focus on new and undiscovered places including new hotels that I find special. There are numerous hotels that are amazing but I only wanted to feature hotels I thought were gems in their own way. I don’t like to follow the masses so I like to be the one to discover that special home away from home. Some are of course well known and I have fallen in love with them (like the W hotel) so I will talk about them but most aren’t exactly famous; I found them to be just as good as or better than a lot of the more well know names.. . I have done this project with a great deal of love, it was never meant to boast or to make myself look like I am better than anyone. I do realize I’m just a boy from the other side of the tracks and that with a lot of hard work, determination and a little bit of luck I have made some cool things happen. I thank God every single day for all my blessings and I will forever live grateful for all that I have been given.. . I hope you enjoy it.
