Within two years we were managing 5 acres of certified organic mixed vegetables together, learning the tricks of the trade.
We now have 10 acres of our own, and have been building the property into a diversified, sustainable food system since 2011. .

We currently raise mixed annual veggies on a third of an acre, and will be putting the remaining acre of meadow into cover crops to prepare the soil for vegetable crop rotation in the coming years.
We have perennial produce including asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries, raspberries, apples, peaches, grapes, and pears that are reaching maturity, and about 6 acres of maple forest that we are selectively clearing for syrup production.
Our flock of laying hens is pastured on a third of an acre, and their diet of foraged bugs and greens is supplemented with certified organic, Vermont-grown grain. .

Healthy soils grow hearty veggies, so we use compost, mulch, and cover crops to build our garden soil.
