Boomershine Skill Center is started with the hope of helping individuals gain skills that will enable them to help themselves. With the beginning of the 2014-15 school year the Skill Center has moved to the campus of Oesterlen Services for Youth in Springfield. This is a residential facility for young people facing challenges in dealing with life situations. Currently a group of girls comes to the Skill Center in the morning and then the boys in the afternoon. They will be working on various project in the wood and printing shops that will give them some beginning skills in both the hands on work and social skills they will need to be successful. . .
