Detailed description is A new and exciting charter high school with a college experience and a head start on an exciting career in nursing and health care The Rhode Island Nurses Institute (RINI) seeks to establish a charter school for prospective nursing students from around the State of Rhode Island.
A curriculum will be developed jointly that will adequately prepare students for a high school diploma, to earn a Certified Nursing Assistant’s (CNA) credential, be accepted to an accredited nursing school and to eventually graduate with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Nursing (BSN).
The charter school will include grades 10 through 12 with an additional "12 Plus" year (Middle College) designed to provide rigorous academic preparation and to acclimate students to a college learning environment.

RINI's goal is enable motivated students, who might not otherwise have the opportunity, to pursue a career in nursing.
Our objective is to ensure that these students have the academic preparation and other skills necessary to graduate from high school and go on to succeed in a college environment.
RINI believes that a public school program such as the Middle College Charter School of Nursing, combined with nursing scholarship programs and college loan forgiveness programs, will be a critical factor in ensuring that we have adequate numbers of well educated nurses to meet the health care needs of Rhode Islanders..
