Het gedeelte dat nu het restaurant is, was destijds de woning van de familie Grimmelt. In 1989 begon de toenmalige eigenaar restaurant De Nachtwacht, momenteel in handen is van de familie Theissen. Meteen in het oog springt de bijzonder fraaie voorgevel van het restaurant, die nog de monumentale sfeer van vroeger tijden uitstraalt. Eenmaal binnen ademt het restaurant nog steeds die gemoedelijke, aangename en warme sfeer, doch vertaald naar een verfrissend en eigentijds interieur.
