Detailed description is The object of this organization is to promote the love of gardening among amateurs & to protect our native trees, wildflowers, and wildlife. We belong to THE GARDEN CLUB OF GEORGIA, INC., organized June 8, 1928. Our Garden Club was organized in 1929. . . WE ARE IN THE OLEANDER DISTRICT (III), one of seven districts, which were established in 1959. District Meetings are held in October. . . All are members of the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc., which includes eight regions. It was founded in 1929. We are a Member of the Deep South Region. The region was established in 1961. The annual conventions are held in May. . . The first Garden Club in the U.S. was the Ladies’ Garden Club in Athens, Georgia, which was organized in January, 1891.
