The process was quite time consuming so Christmas was the only time these were made. As the years past I began making them one or two more times per years, sending or giving them as birthday gifts or “just because”. About a year ago I made a batch of salted caramels and shared them with some people who had never tried them before. They got rave reviews and responses like, “you should start a business”, “why aren’t you selling these” and “I’ll invest in your company”.. One thing led to another and I decided I would give it a go. I spent many weeks tweaking the recipes to get the right amount of vanilla, butter, almonds and other ingredients. I had lots of willing taste testers involved to give me feedback. (It was a tough job but they all survived!) I finally arrived at just the right combination of ingredients and specific cooking times and processes to produce some pretty amazing, buttery caramels! . Why Red’s Wicked Good??. The name Red’s Wicked Good has been written down on a piece of paper for five or more years. If you grew up in or live in New England you use or used the phrase “wicked”….”that’s wicked awesome”, he’s wicked fast”. If you’re a New Englander, you know!! Red was my dad’s nickname and yes, I DO have red hair. So, the “Red’s” part of the name came from both of those things. . About Me: . Before moving full on into caramel making I did a lot of baking. I still love to bake and try to squeeze in some baking in between batches of caramels! I love to bake cakes for friends and family on their birthdays. I live next door to a school where a good friend of mine is a teacher. Every year I go over and meet the new class and bring cookies throughout the school year. This way I get my baking fix and give away most of the cookies before I eat them…and believe me I have THE biggest sweet tooth! Just ask my friends. . Our products:.
