This in-a-home service provides kids with a safe and comfortable alternative to in-school before and after care; allowing them the benefits of being in a home where they can play, create and unwind in a smaller setting..

What services are provided?.
• Accompanied walks to and from Molly Brant Elementary School.
• Nutritious snacks, often prepared in cooperation with the children.
• Creative and age-appropriate outdoor and indoor play.
• No screen time.
• Occasional PA day care is a possibility, and should be arranged a month in advance.

What is the childcare space like?.
We are located in Kingscourt, close to Molly Brant Elementary School, on Brant Avenue.
It takes between 10-15 minutes to walk to and from the school.
We have a dedicated childcare space in our finished basement.
This includes a separate entrance, bathroom and kitchen.
We also have a fenced yard with a gate to Max Jackson park.

What are the details on costs and timing?.
• Drop-off starts at 7:15 and pick-up finishes at 5:15.
• After-school snacks are provided.
Kids are welcome to have breakfast here, but it must be provided by their parents.
• There are three spaces available, ages JK to grade 3.
• Fees are $15 per day, or $10 for just before or just after care.

I’m Lesley Lorimer and I’m the mother and caregiver behind Red Maple before+after school care.
After working as a Design and Communications Specialist for 14 years at Bombardier Transportation, it was time to do something completely different.
Following my second maternity leave, I decided not to return to Bombardier, and have been working at a local non-profit part time.
With my oldest son starting school, I considered the kind of before and after school care I would want for him if I worked full time, and decided to offer that care to others.
As a teenager, I worked at both a large daycare centre and a home daycare as after-school and summer jobs.
So in many ways, this new chapter of my life is a revisit to an earlier chapter.
I have two sons, ages 4 and 1 years old.
My husband and I both have clean CPICs, and he is a social worker.
I’m a creative person, who enjoys coming up with activities to do with my kids.
I’m looking forward to adding new friends into our mix, and will enjoy their fresh ideas, interests and personalities.
