Detailed description is RC Deutsches Theater/ RC German Theatre U-M RC Deutsches Theater is part of the University of Michigan Residential College Intensive German Language Program.
We have staged plays in German annually in the Keene Theater (formerly East Quad Auditorium) since 1985.
Students in this company travel to Munich or Berlin each year to see theater.

Our language program is one of the oldest proficiency programs in the country (dating from 1967).
The RC Deutsches Theater provides a way for students in RC German to learn German through theater performance.
Students in this ensemble learn about the theater of Bertolt Brecht and Augusto Boal; our method is eclectic and experimental and our "look" is like that of contemporary theaters in Europe.
In recent years, students in RC "DT" have received professional training in stage diction and in movement, and they have had travel opportunities over Spring Break or in May to see professional theater in Germany as part of their involvement with the program.
