Detailed description is Tiroid ve Paratiroid Hastalıkları Guatr ve Tiroid Kanser Cerrahi Tedavisi Prof. Dr. Mete Düren. 1963 yılında İstanbul'da doğdu. Orta öğrenimini 1974 -1982 yılları arasında İstanbul Alman Lisesi'nde tamamladı.. . 1982 yılında İ.Ü. Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi'nde tıp eğitimini başladı.. . 1988 yılında bu fakülteden mezun oldu ve ayni yıl fakültenin Genel Cerrahi Anabilim Dalı'nda babası ve Türkiye’de modern endokrin ve tiroid cerrahisinin kurucusu ve öncüsü Prof. Dr. Erol Düren’ in direktörlüğünü yaptığı cerrahi servisinde uzmanlık öğrencisi olarak çalışmaya başladı.. Uzmanlık eğitimi sırasında Gölcük Askeri Hastanesi'nde kısa dönem askerlik hizmetini tamamladı.. . 1993 de genel cerrahi uzmanı oldu.. . 1995 yılında A.B.D. San Francisco-California Üniversitesi Mt. Zion Tip Merkezi Cerrahi Kliniğinde dünyanın sayılı endokrin cerrahlarından Prof. Dr. Orlo Clark’ın yanında endokrin cerrahisi klinik araştırma bursiyeri olarak çalıştı... . 1997 de Genel Cerrahi Doçenti , 2003 de Genel Cerrahi Profesörü oldu.. . 1988 - 2014 arasında l.Ü. Cerrahpaşa Tip Fakültesi Genel Cerrahi Anabilim Dalı Endokrin Cerrahi Servisi‘ nde görev yaptı.. . 2008-2010 yılları arasında Endokrin Cerrahisi Derneği Başkanı olarak görev yaptı.. . Prof. Dr. Mete Düren 2010-2016 tarihleri arasında görev yapmak üzere Uluslararası Endokrin Cerrahlar Derneği Yönetim Kurulu üyeliğine seçilmiştir.. . 2016 Avrupa Endokrin Cerrahi Derneği Kongresi Eşbaşkanlığına seçildi.
