My grandfather, Dr.
Bill Hyde, was one of my boyhood hero's.
He graduated from chiropractic school in 1933 and became one of the first chiropractors in New Zealand.
I remember how he loved adjusting and helping people.
He would always say, "there is healing in these hands".
He would adjust me and my siblings every time time we visited because he knew that it would help us stay healthier.
He was very athletic and took a lot of pride in staying in the best shape possible.
He became a major influence on me when it was time to choose my career..

When in my youth I played many different sports, but basketball was my favourite - the one I excelled in the most.
After high school, I accepted a scholarship to play for a small University in Helena, Montana called Carroll College.
It was there that I became familiar with the team chiropractor who helped keep us healthy and recover quickly from our injuries.
It was then that I knew chiropractic would be a great fit for me as a career..

After returning home I prepared myself for acceptance into chiropractic school.
In 1995 our family moved to Dallas, Texas where I began my studies at Parker Chiropractic College.
After graduating in December 1998, we moved back to our hometown of Ogden, Utah where I opened my first chiropractic office.
Within the next 2 years, my two brothers would also graduate from chiropractic college and join me in my office.
We practiced together for 2 years giving me a total of 4 years of practice in Ogden.
It was a fun experience practicing with my brothers for 2 years, but it became time to move on.
In 2002 my family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where I opened "Gonstead Family Chiropractic".
It was in Salt Lake City where I grew to love chiropractic and the people whom I served..

While in Salt Lake City, I became heavily involved in Ironman racing.
For the past 5 years I have travelled to many different locations racing against the worlds best athletes.
2010 and 2011 were particularly special years due to competing in Kona, Hawaii at the world championships.
Through my involvement, I became the chiropractor to many triathletes, runners and cyclists.
I found that these athletes, along with many others that i have treated over the years, found greater success with less injuries due to their chiropractic adjustments..

After spending 10 years building and growing not only a chiropractic practice but also a family of 5 children, we felt a strong desire to return to my roots in New Zealand.
In April of 2012 we opened "Preston Family Chiropractic" on the beautiful Papamoa coast.
Located at "The Pines" across the street from the Domain Beach and surf club, we can't be more excited to be here starting a new chapter in our lives.
We look forward to new beginnings and the many wonderful people that we will meet and help..
