Detailed description is Le pont d'Estaing est un pont situé en France sur la commune d'Estaing, dans le département de l'Aveyron en région Midi-Pyrénées.Ce pont gothique a été construit en 1490 par les habitants d'Estaing, à l'initiative de l'évêque François d'Estaing.Il fait l'objet d'une inscription au titre des monuments historiques depuis le 29 septembre 2005.DescriptionLe pont d'Estaing a été construit en schiste et présente un couronnement de calcaire. Quatre arches gothiques à double rouleau le composent. Les piles avant-becs sont triangulaires ; celles d'arrière-becs rectangulaires. Le pont est complété par une petite chapelle dédiée en 1524 à Notre-Dame des Sept-Douleurs. En 1866, le sculpteur François Mahoux réalise au-dessus de la pile centrale une statue de l'évêque François d'Estaing (1460-1529), d'après un portrait peint conservé à l'évêché de Rodez.La croix en fonte est due au ferronnier Henri Lesieur.LocalisationLe pont est situé sur les communes d'Estaing et de Sébrazac dans le département français de l'Aveyron.
