Detailed description is Perinthalmanna is a town and municipality in Malappuram district of Kerala. ചരിത്രം. . സാമൂഹ്യ-സാംസ്കാരിക ചരിത്രം. . . വള്ളുവകോനാതിരിയുടെ സേനാനായകനായിരുന്ന കക്കൂത്ത് നായരുടെ അധ്യക്ഷതയില്‍ പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് വര്‍ഷം തോറും ഇവിടെ കായികാഭ്യാസപ്രകടനം അഥവാ പെരുംതല്ല് മത്സരം അരങ്ങേറിയിരുന്നു. ഇന്നത്തെ അങ്ങാടിപ്പുറത്തിന് കിഴക്കുഭാഗത്തായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തായിരുന്നു ഈ കായികാഭ്യാസം (പെരുംതല്ല്) നടന്നിരുന്നത്. “പെരും തല്ല്” നടന്നിരുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണ് പിന്നീട് പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണയായത്. വള്ളുവനാട് പ്രദേശം പണ്ടുകാലത്തൊരു സ്വതന്ത്ര നാട്ടുരാജ്യമായിരുന്നു. ക്രിസ്തുവര്‍ഷം 1320-ലെ വീരരാഘവ പട്ടയത്തില്‍ വള്ളുവനാടിന്റെ പ്രഭു സാക്ഷിയായിരുന്നു. ചേരമാന്‍ പെരുമാള്‍ എ.ഡി 1320-1342 കാലത്ത് വിടവാങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ തിരുവിതാംകോട്, കൊച്ചി, കോലത്ത്‌നാട്, കുറുമ്പ്രനാട്, വള്ളുവനാട് എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്‍മാര്‍ക്ക് കേരളം വിഭജിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. വള്ളുവകോനാതിരിയുടെ രാജ്യമെന്ന നിലയ്ക്കായിരുന്നു വള്ളുവനാടിന് ആ പേര് ലഭിച്ചത്. അക്കാലത്തു തന്നെ പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണ പ്രദേശം വള്ളുവനാടിന്റെ ഹൃദയമായിരുന്നു. ഇന്നത്തെ പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണ, അങ്ങാടിപ്പുറം പ്രദേശങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നായികിടന്ന് അങ്ങാടിപ്പുറം എന്ന പേരിലാണ് അക്കാലത്ത് അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്. പാതായിക്കര മന പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണയിലെ ചരിത്രപ്രധാനമായ ഒരു ഇല്ലമാണ്. നിരവധി പുരാതന ആചാരങ്ങള്‍ നിലനിന്നിരുന്ന മനയോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് വിസ്താരമുള്ള രണ്ടു കിണറുകളും അത് മൂടത്തക്കവിധത്തില്‍ വലിപ്പമുള്ള പാറകൊണ്ടുള്ള അടപ്പും കാണാം. ഇതിനടുത്തുതന്നെ രാമന്‍കുഴി എന്ന പ്രസിദ്ധമായ കുഴിയും നരിമടയും സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഗുരുവായൂര്‍ ക്ഷേത്രപ്രവേശന സത്യാഗ്രഹം നടക്കുന്ന സമയം, അതിന്റെ ആവേശമുള്‍ക്കൊണ്ട്, പാലോളി മനയ്ക്കല്‍ വാസുദേവന്‍ നമ്പൂതിരി അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഇല്ലംവകയായ എരിവിമംഗലം ശ്രീചക്കുവറ ക്ഷേത്രം നാനാജാതിക്കാര്‍ക്കുമായി തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. ആദ്യകാലങ്ങളില്‍ ഇ.എം.എസിന്റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനമേഖലയെന്ന നിലയില്‍ ഈ പ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നും ഒട്ടനവധി പേര് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമരത്തിലും വിപ്ലവപ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു. മലബാറിലെ പഴക്കമേറിയ വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ഇന്നത്തെ പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണ ഗവ.വൊക്കേഷണല്‍ ഹയര്‍ സെക്കന്ററി സ്കൂള്‍. 1865-ല്‍ റൈറ്റ് സ്കൂള്‍ ആയിട്ടാണ് ഇത് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയത്. 1950-60 കാലഘട്ടങ്ങളില്‍ കരിബസുകളും, ഷവര്‍ലെറ്റ് കാറുകളുമായിരുന്നു ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ പ്രധാന വാഹനങ്ങള്‍. ഈ നഗരസഭാ പ്രദേശത്തു കൂടി ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ - നിലമ്പൂര്‍ റെയില്‍പാത കടന്നുപോകുന്നുണ്ട്. 1910 മുതല്‍ പത്ത് വര്‍ഷക്കാലം കെ.ഗോവിന്ദന്‍ തിരുമുല്പാടിന്റെ അംബികാവിലാസം എന്ന ബസ് ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. പുത്തൂര്‍ ശിവക്ഷേത്രം, പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണ ശിവക്ഷേത്രം തുടങ്ങിയ ഒട്ടനവധി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളും പാതായിക്കര ജുമാ മസ്ജിദ്, മാനത്ത് മംഗലം ജുമാ മസ്ജിദ് തുടങ്ങി ഒട്ടനവധി മുസ്ലീം പള്ളികളും, ലൂര്‍ദ് മാതാ ചര്‍ച്ച്, മലങ്കര ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സിറിയന്‍ ചര്‍ച്ച് തുടങ്ങിയവയുമാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രധാന ആരാധനാലയങ്ങള്‍.
