Orange Beach, Alabama, a 42 year old Wellington, Alabama resident, here working to rebuild our Community after Hurricane Ivan, falls when a ladder collapsed from underneath him.
Falling 36 feet and landing face down in the dirt.
Witnesses claim he actually bounced 6 feet, and landed again, face down.
Miraculously, he never lost consciences.

Injuries sustained include, but not limited to, Maxofacial Distortion, (jaw broken in 3 places, broken nose), Sinus Rupture, (a skull fracture from 3 cm above the left eyebrow, along the left side of the nose, through the sinus cavity and Palatal bone), Dislocated Shoulders, Fractured Spine and numerous Disk Distortions, and Hip Ligament tears.
Having no Insurance, he was hospitalized and four Maxofacial surgeries were done, but other injuries were not treated.
Some injuries were not even diagnosed at the time of the accident.
After several days in Hospital and many weeks recovering, he returned to Construction work until his body just gave out in 2010.
"After the accident, we were financially unable to move back home." In constant, debilitating pain and losing his balance, he returned to an occupation he had long before given up.
Music Performance.
"Performing was the only thing I thought I had left, that I could still do", he said.
In 2011 he took a job playing bars and other venues in and around Perdido Key and Gulf Shores, until, in 2015, he stopped due to the loss of coordination and instant recall memory.
He says, "I felt as though I was not doing justice to the performers I was working with".
I made too many mistakes, on stage, and became an embarrassment to myself, and those performers." .

The obvious question, became, "Why don't you get Disability, or SSI?.

Answer? He does not qualify for Disability and Attorney's will NOT take his SSI claim due to low profit for themselves in the end.
But, there is also another, bigger factor involved here.
He doesn't want to be disabled or receive SSI.
He'd rather make his own way and survive.
"The American way", he says.

So, what is does this man do, now? He remembered his childhood training at his family's Piano Dealership, as a Service Technician and Tuner.
Not realizing, at the time how valuable this training would become, he now depends on it for mental stability and his only source of income.
He said during this interview, "I took me many months to admit to myself that, now this truly is all I have left.
I can barely walk, and I am in constant, severe pain.
I can not sit, stand, lie down, squat or bend, without this pain.
The mobility of most of my body is so limited, with hardly more than a few steps at a time without resting, I can not be a productive employee to anyone.
So, I must depend on myself and my limited range of capability, knowledge gained from my family and the willingness of Clients to allow me to service their Instrument".
So, after a successful "GoFundMe" campaign to buy the necessary tools and a few supplies, in November of 2015 he started tuning pianos in Baldwin and surrounding Counties.
He seems to be doing fine if you consider his condition and that, "not many people still own a piano and most Churches have begun using Digital." But, to say he's given up or given in? No.
Not this guy.
He's honest, trustworthy, faithful, and diligent with every Client.
