Detailed description is Pittsburghs Premier Rugby team, Only Division 1 Men's Club team, and the Premier Rugby Facility in the United States. The Pittsburgh Harlequins Rugby Club was founded in 1973 by a group of law students at the University of Pittsburgh. Approaching our 40th anniversary, the organization boasts an active roster of 45 players and an alumni roster inclusive of more than 70 seasons of play. The Harlequins Rugby Club is a member of the USA Rugby Football Union, and competes as the only Division I side in the Pittsburgh area. Over 300 active players wear the Harlequin jerseys every year at the Division 1 men’s, Under 19, and Under 14 levels.. . The Pittsburgh Harlequins help develop rugby in the Pittsburgh area through youth outreach programs, supporting High School rugby teams, university teams such as the Carnegie Mellon Rugby Football Club and other age-grade all-star teams.
