The Pitt County Schools Teacher Support Program is charged with recruiting, supporting, and retaining teachers. The Beginning Teacher Support program is facilitated with the help of five district lead mentors and a school lead mentor at each school. . . This page is designed to help promote recruitment efforts as well as to publicize Teacher Support programs. . . The Key BT program is designed to work with highly effective Beginning Teachers to train and support them to become collaborative leaders with other Beginning Teachers. Participants will support other BTs in : . 1) Orientation: facilitating the summer induction of new teachers,. 2) Resources: creating resources for BTs to use, . 3) Training: assisting in the facilitation of monthly training for BTs,. 4) Advocacy: advocating for the needs of BTs in a productive way.. . East Carolina University is located in Pitt County and the Teacher Support Program coordinates programs, grants, and teacher education programs with ECU.
