In early 1968, Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc came together in Seattle, Washington to discuss the need for an Alumni Chapter presence in the Northwest.
It was determined that Sigma was needed in the Seattle community to stand as an example of Service.
Sigmas were also needed to service as positive male role models to the youth of the Seattle area.
The Brothers Reached out to the Western Region of the Fraternity asking for their blessing and help in establishing this new chapter in the Northwest..

The Honorable Brother Oscar M.
Morgan, Western Regional Secretary along with other Brothers of the Western Region heard the call and on July 17th, they joined 10 Brothers of the Seattle area in Establishing the New Chapter.
These 10 Brothers were Bro.

Spearman, Bro.
Richard Giggans, Bro.
Oran Webb, Bro.
Curtis Jackson, Bro Melvin Minnis, Bro.

On July 26, 1968, Honorable Brother William E Doar, National Director of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity assigned the chapter in Seattle the temporary name of Epsilon Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated until the request could be approved by the National President.
On September 15, 1968, the Epsilon Epsilon Sigma Chapter was approved and given full recognition within the fraternity by our 19th National President, the Honorable Brother Alvin J.
McNeil..
