Peoria Sports Complex was the first Major League Baseball spring training and player development facility in the country shared by two teams. Built in 1994, the complex has served as a model for other facilities of its kind. Through 20-year leases, the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners use Peoria Sports Complex year round.. . Situated on 145 acres, Peoria Sports Complex contains a main stadium, 12 full-size practice fields (six lighted), four half fields, two 40,000 square foot clubhouses as well as indoor and outdoor batting tunnels. The stadium has a seating capacity of more than 12,000 and includes a full press box, 8 luxury suites, catering, a visiting team clubhouse and full concession stands. . . In addition to Major and Minor League Baseball, the Peoria Sports Complex hosts many local and national youth and adult baseball tournaments and championships.
