I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.
I graduated with honours from the Child and Youth Worker Program at Mohawk College in 2012.
After graduating I began working for Grand Youth Services, a privately owned residential care agency for children.
During my summers I worked for Mohawk College running an overnight camp program for aboriginal youth where they would attend college classes during the day and in the evening would visit the Six Nations Grand River Reserve where they participated in cultural ceremonies and learned about their culture.
I then began working for Carizon Family and Community Services, and still do on a part-time basis.
Carizon is a residential and educational agency for children with mental health diagnosis and aggressive behaviours.
Before having my daughter I worked as a primary worker in the residence.
In my role as a primary worker I was responsible for developing treatment plans and programs for children to help them manage their diagnosis and aggressive behaviours and then assisting in the implementation of those programs.
I have a lot of experience developing programs that help children become the best that they can be in areas of social skills and life skills.
While at Carizon I also worked in the classroom of our section school where I was able to work one on one with children assisting them in reaching their educational goals.
I am also current with my first aid and CPR certification.

I have a very strong passion for the growth and development of children and I believe that by providing them with quality care by engaging them in therapeutic play and providing them with a safe environment they will be able to grow to their full potential.
It is very important to me that your child feels safe and comfortable in my care and I will do my best to build a trusting relationship with them.

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, physically, intellectually and socially.
I believe that it is important to encourage children to believe in themselves and allow them to explore and learn from their environment.
