With his extensive background in the health care industry, Bryan has been a constant advocate for policies to make our health care system more accessible and affordable. He is an outspoken champion of ALS awareness and research, especially its impact on veterans. He also serves as a legislative appointee to the PA Trauma Systems Foundation. . . Bryan’s background in hospitals has also translated into writing laws that make our Commonwealth’s hospitals work more efficiently. Bryan wrote a bill eliminating redundant hospital accreditation procedures, in hospitals that already meet all state licensing requirements. Signed into law as Act 60 of 2013, Pennsylvania’s best hospitals are now spending more time, and money serving their patients. . . Since coming to Harrisburg, Bryan has battled against welfare fraud and abuses of government programs. His leadership on a House welfare reform task force and his tireless activism for changes to the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), led to the passage of Act 164 of 2012. This law implements fraud detection and prevention mechanisms through the use of an Income Eligibility Verification System and strengthens fraud reporting measures and whistleblower protections. Bryan’s legislative achievements are a sign of his willingness to embrace bipartisanship for the best interest of Pennsylvanians. . . Bryan’s previous government experience includes serving on the Drumore Township Planning Commission, the Regional Planning Commission and the Emergency Management Team for Drumore Township. . . A graduate of Widener Law School, Bryan qualified for Law Review. He also attended Lebanon Valley College, graduating summa cum laude, and Lancaster General School of Radiology, graduating first in his class and receiving the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award. . . His other accolades include the Mallinckrodt Award for Clinical Excellence and a certificate of achievement in Health Care Enterprise Ownership. He also has been honored with the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award from Lancaster General College of Nursing and Health Services, the 2012 Lancaster Farmland Trust Amos H.
