In September 1979 the congregation of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church opened Child of Christ Lutheran School with 31 students in grades K-8.
Both church and school were located at 3375 Fenton Rd, Hartland, MI.
In 1992 church operations were moved to the present M-59 location.
In September 2009, the 30th anniversary year of the school, school opened in new facilities at M-59, with a new name to emphasize the church and school were one mission untied.
