While watching a U.S. national news program, Coco Lee Loren, CEO of Develop Culture, heard a senior U.S. Military leader state that there is a disconnect between the U.S. Military and the society they serve. After much thought and discussion, she launched the "Our Heroes" project.. . “Our Heroes” is an exhibition and book that showcases heart-felt letters and messages written by U.S. and U.K. military persons while serving in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Through reading of these significant letters the audience is allowed a view inside the life, thoughts and feelings of “Our Heroes”, forming real-time connections with the sacrifice that these soldiers undertake, which will lead to greater appreciation, understanding and connectedness to our two Nations’ military. . . Exhibition of 50 letters along with photos of the authors will be showcased in museums in both the U.S. and U.K. beginning on July 1, 2012, as will a list of each Nation’s Medal of Honor recipients and the stories behind these honors, as well as a list of the brave servicepersons killed in action. A book containing 100 letters and photos from both the U.S. and U.K. will be developed for sale to the general public. The book will contain additional information about Medal of Honor recipients, along with a timeline of each war effort.. . Proceeds Donated To:.
