Detailed description is The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Miami (UM) is a member-driven institute of lifelong learning for those 50+ years old.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UM is a learning community of members, age 50 and over, who understand the value of ongoing intellectual exploration.
We offer a wide array of courses in literature, history, religion, philosophy, social sciences, performing arts, art and architecture, economics, finance, computers and lifestyle issues.
Our curriculum committee is responsive to the requests of our members, so our offerings are always fresh.
In addition, we have social events, guest speakers, field trips, and host special interest groups, ranging from an investments group to a Yiddish conversation club..

Classes are non-credit, so members are not tested, graded or required to meet any educational requirements.
We choose to learn from each other, to hear opposing ideas, and to synthesize the expertise of the instructor, the wisdom of our fellow students and our own opinions into new views.
It is this synthesis that keeps us strong, as individuals and as a program.

Most of our classes are held in Lau Founders Hall Building (1550 Brescia Avenue) on the UM Coral Gables campus, meeting once a week for about 1 hour and 45 mins.
