İlk ve orta öğretimini bu şehirde tamamlayan genç oyuncu daha sonra Nişantaşı Nuri Akın Anadolu Lisesi’nden başarıyla mezun olmuştur.. . Oyunculuk yanında stand-up gösterileriyle de dikkat çeken oyuncu 2008 yılında SAKM (Sadri Alışık Kültür Merkezi) bünyesinde oyunculuk dersleri almaya başlamıştır. Bu süre içinde Asiye Nasıl Kurtulur, Salak Oğlum, Yanlışlıklar Komedyası ve Size Nasıl Geliyorsa Öyledir gibi tiyatro oyunlarında rol almıştır. Bir hayli çalışkan ve üretken olan oyuncu geçtiğimiz yıl kadrolu olarak Sadri Alışık Tiyatrosu’nda görev yapmaya başlamıştır.. . SAKM’deki hocalarının da teşvikiyle komedi alanında büyük yeteneği olduğunu farkeden oyuncu geçtiğimiz yıl kendi yazdığı bir gösteri ile Maya Sahnesinde izleyicilerin karşısına çıktı. Genç nesil komedyen adayı tiyatrodan bazı arkadaşlarıyla birlikte çeşitli skeçler hazırlayarak video paylaşım sitelerine yükledi. Bu skeçlerden özellikle Kuzey Güney dizisine göndermeler yaptığı Lodos ile Poyraz skeci büyük ilgi gördü.. . Onur Sermik ayrıca kendi yazdığı ve “Scan Etmek” adını verdiği tek kişilik stand up gösterisine devam etmektedir. Sahnede yerine duramayan genç oyuncu oyununda bir internet kafeye giren bayanın elindeki evrakı scan etme (tarama) isteği ve sonrasında gelişen komik olaylar konu ediliyor.. . Doksanlar dizisinde mahalle kabadayısı tiplemesi ile de büyük beğeni kazanan genç oyuncu futbol, basketbol ve voleybol gibi spor dallarında da yetenekli.
