Keith Lam says that one day while he was making a delivery of Coca-Cola, ‘‘an opportunity presented itself.” That opportunity was the possibility of owning his own restaurant.

The previous owner was thinking about selling his business, while Lam had been thinking about how he could work for himself.
The two got to talking and Lam became a restaurant owner, accepting beverage deliveries instead of making them..

After opening the restaurant in 1993 in its original space on F Street in Seat Pleasant, Lam discovered that he needed more space..
