Detailed description is The 33nd Annual North Georgia Folk Festival will be held on October 7, 2017 at Sandy Creek Park, 400 Bob Holman Road, Athens, GA. The 33nd Annual North Georgia Folk Festival will be held on October 7, 2017 at Sandy Creek Park, 400 Bob Holman Road, Athens, GA.. Join us for a great day of music, storytelling, arts, crafts, food, kid’s activities and folk fun. Kids music and activities start at 11:30. Music includes Rebecca Sunshine and her band, The Ale Raisers, Moira and Mickey Nelligan, Athens Cowboy Choir, The Squalls, Jason Cade with Hawkproof Rooster, The Chuck Nation Bluegrass Band, Wil Maring and Robert Bowlin, The Tony Bryant Blues Band, and the Hobohemians. Cortez Garza will host the Songwriter’s Showcase at the fire circle amphitheater. Admission to the festival is $15 (adults), $8 (students with ID), and kids under 12 are free. There is also a $2 per person (ages 4-64) park admission fee.
