The plan for this lake house started in Fall of 2014.
My wife, Brittany, and I had just sold our house in Charlotte and were trying to decide what to do with the equity.
My Uncle Rich and Aunt Vickie (www.guthmannconstruction) had recently renovated their mountain house in Rumbling Bald Resort ("Lookout Lodge" at 204 Bee Tree-- look them up on VRBO) and had success renting out their house when not using it personally.
So we pitched the idea to Ashley, and her husband Myles, owner of Westwood General Contractors in Charlotte (www.westwoodcharlotte.com) to build a mountain house within the same resort.
Myles and I had built several houses together previously and Ashley is an accomplished Interior Designer, so we knew we had the right team for the job.
