The New York Film Academy's Musical Theatre School offers aspiring musical theatre actors a one-of-a-kind opportunity to develop their singing and movement abilities with Broadway level faculty.

Kristy Cates is best known as Elphaba in the Broadway, Chicago and National Tour of "Wicked" and holds the honor of being only the third person to perform the role on Broadway.
Prior to playing the role full time, she was in the Original Broadway Cast as the understudy to TONY winner, Idina Menzel and can be heard singing several solo lines on the cast recording.
Other credits include: Off Broadway: Jerry Springer the Opera at Carnegie Hall, Click Clack Moo at the Lucille Lortell, The Music of Ruth Wallis, Princess Ida.
Favorite Regional: The World Premier of Unbeatable (“Zoni” Award and Kevin Kline nomination- Best Actress in a Musical), Gloria in Boeing Boeing, Mother in Ragtime, Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Fraulein Kost in Cabaret.
Kristy has performed sold out concerts all over the USA as well as at the Palace of Versailles in Paris, the Kischelli Church in Budapest and aboard a chartered yacht through the Mediterranean.

Deidre Goodwin is a veteran of eight Broadway Shows and has numerous film and television credits.
A sizzling turn as a “Merry Murderess” in the Oscar winning film Chicago garnered her a piece of the 2003 SAG award for Best Ensemble.
She is also featured in the documentary Every Little Step snagging the coveted role of “Sheila” in the 2006 revival of A Chorus Line.
Some of her other film roles include The Bourne Legacy, It’s Complicated, Love and Other Drugs and Half Nelson.
Television audiences will recognize Deidre as “Deborah” from the “MILF Island” episode of 30 Rock as well as stints on Law & Order SVU, Nurse Jackie, Dancing with the Stars (with the cast of A Chorus Line), Good Morning America and 3 appearances on the Tony Awards.
Dance and Theatre are her first loves.
She has appeared in eight Broadway shows and numerous regional productions.
Broadway includes A Chorus Line (Sheila Bryant), Chicago (Velma Kelly), Nine (Our Lady of the Spa), The Boys from Syracuse, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Rocky Horror Show and the original companies of Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life and Never Gonna Dance.
Deidre has added the honored role of Teacher and Mentor to her resume and teaches Dance and Musical Theatre workshops across the country and world with a variety of prestigious Musical Theatre organizations.
She is also on the faculty for the Musical Theatre Conservatory Program at the New York Film Academy.
Her experience in theatre, dance, film and teaching lead her to become co-creator of The Broadway Warm-Up: A completely synchronized vocal and dance warm-up which is available as a DVD.

Michelle recently completed a 9-year run in Chicago the Musical on Broadway as Go-to-Hell Kitty and the understudy for the lead, Roxie Hart.
She was also chosen to work side by side with Ms.
Ann Reinking as the Dance Captain for Chicago the Musical on Broadway.
Michelle has also had the privilege of constructing and overseeing a special one night performance by the incredible Chita Rivera at the Hotel Pierre.
Michelle has danced professionally in such productions as Crazy For You (International tour), The Will Rogers Follies (National Tour), Beauty and the Beast (Walt Disney World.) She has been a featured dancer in the remake of the Stepford Wives movie and as a featured Dancer in a National Ebay commercial directed by Sam Mendes, as well as many other TV appearances.
She has also taught dance in the NYC Public school system through The National Dance Institute under the direction of the legendary Jacques d'Amboise.
Michelle earned a BFA in Dance from Missouri State University.
Currently she teaching dance at the New York Film Academy in their Musical Theater Conservatory Program.

Sara Antkowiak is a New York actress, dancer, aerialist, and teacher.
Among her favorite credits are: Genevieve on One Life to Live, Olympia Dancing Doll in Les Contes D’Hoffmann directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher at The Metropolitan Opera – also featured on PBS’ Great Performances, Rosentern, Hamlet’s professor in Elsinore County at Theatre Row on 42nd Street which she also choreographed, Terasa, a clairvoyant Russian in #Hero at The Chain Theatre, Betty in the webseries Bad Kitty, and short film Deal Travis In.
She has been fortunate to work with Steven Schwartz as an aerial soloist in Goodspeed’s tour of Pippin, as a swing at The Met Opera in Laurent Pelly’s Manon and Robert LePage’s Damnation of Faust, and she helped create the principal role Love for The Met Opera’s Armida, directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman.

Erik appeared in the world premiere of REEFER MADNESS!, for which he received Ovation and Garland Awards, the LA Drama Critics' Circle Award-winning revival of A CLOCKWORK ORANGE and THE TEMPEST.
Has won The Lotte Lenya Competition for Singers in 2005 and appeared in AN EVENING OF KURT WEILL at Lincoln Center before making his Off-Broadway debut in THE CALAMITY OF KAT KAT AND WILLIE.
He debuted on Broadway in Hal Prince and Alfred Uhry's LOVEMUSIK, provided choreography for MABOU MINES DOLLHOUSE, which played Off-Broadway then toured the world for eight years, and toured North America opposite Topol, Harvey Fierstein and Theodore Bikel in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
