Detailed description is Apprentice & Journeyman Retraining Educational & Industry Fund.
The CTC is the training center for the New York City District Council of Carpenters.
We conduct training for both Apprentices and Jouney Persons.
Our apprenticeship program consists of training for over 1,700 registered apprentices in six New York State Department of Labor approved apprenticeship programs.
The apprenticeship programs are four-year programs, with the exception of Cabinet maker, which is a five-year program.
Apprentices are scheduled for daytime training for one week every eleven weeks, from September through July of each year of their apprenticeship for a total of four weeks per year.
In addition to their schooling, apprentices must also complete 1,300 hours of on the job training on a construction site for a signatory contractor.
In addition to our apprenticeship training, the Carpenters Training Center also provides training for our mechanics through the journey level training schedule.
Journey level courses are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
Members may register for no more than two courses at a time.
