Overseer Carr graduated from Claflin College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and right after graduation he was commissioned to the United States Army as an officer where he served 5 years in active duty. After which, he gained employment at Allied Chemical in Baltimore, Maryland. He stayed with the company for 14 years as a Chemist and Supervisor.. . At that time, he became a member of the organization: Church of God In Christ Jesus, Apostolic, Inc where his fellowship church was Rehoboth in Baltimore, Maryland under his pastor, the late Bishop William Barnes Sr and later served under Bishop Keith G. Allen. As a member there, Overseer Carr aided Bishop Barnes and helped the church in any way he could. Seeing his faithfulness, Bishop Barnes ordained him a deacon. Although he received a title that didn’t give Overseer Carr a big head or stop him from doing the work of the Lord. He continued to be faithful in tithing and giving offering, assisting the elderly (which he loved), driving the church van, and winning his family to Christ. After which, he was given the title minister. Overseer Carr had to endure a lot of hits, scandalizing, and accusations just to believe that one day his wife and children would receive Christ. God is not a man that he should lie – so by and by his wife and children were saved. Continuing to live for the lord, Bishop William Faison ordained him as Elder in 1988 and later on he became Pastor of the New Jerusalem Church in North, South Carolina where he has been pastor for over 19 years. He also pastors Rehoboth Church in Holly Hill, SC where he commutes back and forth every Sunday while his wife, Evangelist Carr, oversees New Jerusalem in his absence. . . In May 2008, he was elected as the Overseer of South Carolina and Georgia for COGICJA and then a year later, he was selected to serve on the Governing Board. From his first day of receiving the truth, Pastor Carr has not looked back to the world. He knows in whom he has believed and is persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate him from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord..
