The store was born from the vision of the "Horizons Project" that many community members participated in over an 18 month period just a few years ago. . . Unlike other thrift stores, New Horizon engages volunteers in the daily operation of the facility. There is no paid staff for the store, but a dedicated and hard-working group of volunteers manager the daily needs of the store. . Community members are eager to donate new and gently used clothing, household items and more because they value the mission of the organization. New Horizon Thrift Store returns the profits from the store back into the community to enhance youth programs, mission trips, and community improvement projects. In it's first full year of operation the store made financial contributions totaling over $16,000 back into Pine City organizations.
