Implantado em 05 de maio de 2006, pela Enfermeira Simone Galvão Oliveira e tendo como parceira a Enfermeira Cleide Soares.
Em consonância com a política orientadora de formação em saúde do Ministério da Saúde, a qual é permeada pelos pressupostos da Educação Permanente, o Hospital Geral de Vitória da Conquista implanta o “ NÚCLEO DE EDUCAÇÃO PERMANENTE “ ( NEP ), tendo como objeto de transformação o processo de trabalho e a realização do encontro entre o mundo de formação e o mundo do trabalho, onde aprender e ensinar se incorporam ao cotidiano das organizações e ao trabalho, orientado para a melhoria da qualidade dos serviços e para a equidade no cuidado e acesso aos serviços de saúde.
Em dezembro de 2008 a enfermeira Valdenice Vieira passa a integrar este núcleo e juntamente com Cleide implementam ações com o objetivo de buscar estratégias para mobilizar os profissionais a buscar novos conhecimentos, pois a necessidade de aprender e transformar é fonte inesgotável do ser humano.
Em abril de 2009 a Valdenice Vieira assume a coordenação do NEP, tendo como secretária Maria Vanusia Medeiros.
Em maio de 2009 cria o blog Núcleo Educação.
