Detailed description is The N.B.C. Fire Protection District serves our community through a variety of life safety related services. The New Hamburg – Benton - Commerce Fire Protection District (NBCFPD) encompasses 95 square miles of rural / agricultural area and has a population of 6340. We were originally organized as the Benton - Commerce - New Hamburg F.P.D. but, have since changed to NBCFPD. We are predominately a bedroom community with some manufacturing and service industries. Most of our land is used for agricultural purposes. We respond to around 330 emergency calls a year. We also provide safety related classes for our community.
