Detailed description is My story on how I came up with the name "My Time Nails & More".. . It all started when I decided that it was my time to make a change in my life to do something for me. My son moved away to college. I was a single mother for most of his life with the exception for a few years. I have had jobs that paid enough to pay the bills and put food on our plates. I did what I had to do. When he left, I felt that I needed a change. A change that would reflect my true spirit. I sat there thinking "what can I do? I can't go back to school - I'm too old. Yankton doesn't necessarily have that many jobs to choose from." I had a great job that most people would love to have but it didn't fulfill what I needed. Everyday I sat there thinking "What makes me happy?" Well, one answer was getting my nails done. When I would get my nails done I felt important, strong, confident and beautiful. Most of all .... somebody! "That's it!!! That's the answer! I want to do nails! I will make people feel beautiful and make sure they feel the same way when I got my nails done!" So, I looked into the schooling to become a Nail Tech - it was 12 weeks and I went home to tell my husband that I wanted to quit my job! I sat him down and told him what I wanted to do and he stopped breathing when he realized I was serious. He sat there looking at me like I was crazed woman! He didn't see how we financially could do it. He asked me what my business plan was. "What? What business plan? I just want to do nails." 2 weeks went by and my heart was deflated. I remember thinking, " Is this what my life is going to be like?" Having to stay at a job that I wasn't happy with for another 19 years?" I went home like any other day and my husband could sense my breaking heart. He looked me in the eye and grabbed my hands and said to me, "If you still want to pursue your dream of doing nails, I will stand behind you and be your biggest supporter." WHOOP WHOOP!!!! YES!!!!!!!! The next day I enrolled just in time for the next class which would be in 3 weeks. My Time Nails ---- because its my time to do what I want and its also your time to feel beautiful, strong and confident! With the help of my husband, son and a few friends, here I am! And I still don't know what my business plan is :)
