When the page was originally created in 2013, it was a means to reconnect with home.
I travel so much with half of my year in Kailua and the other half abroad or on the mainland.
My goal was simply to post a picture a day of home, and have others share their pictures so that at the very least, when we were away, we still feel connected..

My Kailua kind of exploded over the course of a year and the followers were pouring in from all over the world and all walks of life.
People began to reconnect as if the years had never passed.

It has always been centered around the content that the community shares.
