Detailed description is The focus of my work is Sculptural Repoussé. Sculptural repoussé is a dual-process technique for working in metal. It involves drawing a 2D image on sheet metal, and working the sheet from the front and the back using little chisel-like tools. The result is that the 2D image is turned into a 3D image!. The best know examples of this technique are seen in old-fashioned silver teaware sets. Repoussé, itself, is a very ancient technique---one that isn't practiced by many nowadays...but don't worry! There are still some of us out there that keep the tradition alive ;-). . Its applications are quite varied. Possible idea options are (but are certainly not limited to):. . -cabinet embellishments. -stair railing accents. -decorative light fixture bases. -wall sculptures. -wall hangings (the same thing as a painting, except think: all in metal!). -decorative plates, sculptural bowls, accent pieces. -relief work. -plaques for commemorating events, etc.. -jewelry boxes. -even jewelry, such as bracelets and earrings. . ...if you can think of it, it can be done.. . *Note, I do have restrictions on what I can, and cannot, produce at this time, due to the tooling that I currently possess.
