Detailed description is 'For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified' Corinthians 2:2.
The Church began meeting at the Broxton School and in 1911 held its first revival meeting .
In that meeting the church received twenty-six new members by profession of faith and baptism.
The young church was growing..

In 1915 the church moved to the Mollie Miller place where it met until August 18, 1918, when it was demolished by a storm.
It then moved to the George Hawthorne place where it met until 1931..

In 1931 the present site was secured from the Lutcher-Stark Lumber Company.
A wood frame building was erected to house the church activities.
The building was used until 1963.
It is on this site where our current fellowship hall is located.

In 1963, under the leadership of Bro.
A.T.
Nash, who engineered and did much of the labor, a beautiful cinder-block auditorium and educational facility was erected.
In 1984 a new fellowship hall was added.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, August 12, 1999 a fire destroyed the auditorium and educational facilities of Mount Carmel Baptist Church..

Following the fire, the Church met in the Fellowship Hall for services.
A mobile home was parked next to the Fellowship Hall where Sunday School and discipleship Training was held until the new church building was completed.
We moved into the new building in 2001..

During Mount Carmel's one hundred plus years, the following ministers have been sent forth from her membership: Bro Grady Estes, Bro V.I.
