Detailed description is Taunton's Biggest Garden retail space.. We celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2012. . . Monkton Elm was bought in 1978 as a commercial nursery by Mr & Mrs Bellman. The garden centre was launched in 1982. Our first restaurant area was added in 1988, followed by a pet shop in 1991.. . Today the garden centre is run with the help of nearly 100 staff. Some have been with the business for more than 25 years. . . Our 30th anniversary celebrations kick off on Saturday, March 10 from 11am and we will have 30 weeks of events, ending on Sunday, September 30.. .
