MOJAVE PLASTIC PROJECT. . Mojave Plastic Project (MPP) is an initiative to clean up the Mojave Desert. Beginning in January 2017 our staff and volunteers began reclaiming littered plastic bags and bottles, as well as other recyclables from the desert. The litter will be recycled / downcycled. By reclaiming 500,000 pieces of litter in the next five years, MPP will protect animal habitat by reducing both landfill use and the presence of ground and water toxins from the breakdown of plastics.. . MOJAVE PET FOOD BANK. Mojave Animal Protection holds frequent pet food drives in California’s High Desert. The food collected is distributed to individual pet owners and to community organizations including Mojave Animal Resource Center and the pet food bank at Joshua Tree – Food Not Bombs.. .
