Detailed description is Paula Elizabeth Allen. Currently enrolling students for the 2017-2018 yearly session.. Private Vocal and Piano Instruction. I have over 35 years of private piano and vocal instruction experience. Student ages ranged from 4 to 75. I am also the piano accompanist for Oswego USD 504 Junior/Senior High School. I am affiliated with the "Music Teachers National Association". I am available to play for weddings, corporate parties, musical theater productions, soloists, choirs, and director of summer music camps for children ages 6-18. Taught kindergarten through 8th grade music including choir and band at a private school in Wichita, Kansas for 3 years. Music is my passion and I love to share my knowledge with others. . . I offer private voice and piano lessons for all ages starting at age 4 through adults. I provide voice coaching in all styles and piano instruction for beginners through advanced students. All private lessons are designed to meet the specific needs and goals of the student, while building skills and confidence. Music theory and technique are included in each lesson. The voice lessons stress techniques necessary for healthy singing. Breath control, vowel purity and good diction are emphasized. Students will study a variety of song literature and musical theater, both American and foreign, and develop the background essential for artistic solo singing and performance.. . The piano lessons stress techniques including; sight reading, note reading, syncopation, rhythm, and counting. The ability to read music is a very important skill. The more advanced student should be able to learn as much music as possible from varying styles, including simplified versions of more difficult pieces and classical works. I adjust my teaching to address the different needs, desires and abilities of my students. I also include the input from my students and parents in deciding what music to play.. . Performing is an important skill for any pianist or vocalist. The students will be involved in a studio recital each year. The recital is always a great experience and very rewarding..
