Seit Januar 2003 bietet die Messe Chemnitz auf einem Gelände von 19.000 Quadratmetern mit der hochmodernen, multifunktionalen Chemnitz Arena als Herzstück, einer zweiten Veranstaltungshalle und dem Freigelände beste Voraussetzungen für Messen, Konzerte, Tagungen, Sport- und Firmenveranstaltungen. Die Event- und Messegesellschaft Chemnitz mbH übernimmt als Betreiber alle Aufgaben zur Bewirtschaftung des Geländes.. . Zahlreiche Veranstalter nutzten bereits die nahezu unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten der Messe. Zahlreiche für die Region bedeutende Messen und Ausstellungen, wie zum Beispiel der „Chemnitzer Reisemarkt“ und die „Chemnitzer Hochzeitsmesse“ sowie die Gartenmesse "Chemnitzer Frühling", haben sich in den letzten Jahren fest etabliert.
