Terre Haute Area Meals on Wheels, INC is a 501(3)c non- profit agency that has been providing food to the Terre Haute elderly, disabled, sick and home-bound for 45 years..
With the help of community volunteers, we provide TWO (2), 1 hot and 1 cold, nutritious meals each weekday to our recipients for a minimal charge of $5.50.
In addition to food, we offer a short visit to alleviate loneliness and hopelessness.
Our volunteer drivers are the only socialization some of our recipients have all week long..
We DO NOT receive any government money to help off set the ever rising costs of delivering meals.
In order to be able to serve more people we only charge the amount we pay our providers to cook the meals.
As a result, we MUST fund raise for operating expenses..
