McKay’s Studio was opened in 1940 by Pat and Nina McKay, it was a photo and frame shop at the time and also sold camera's and camera supplies.
Pat and Nina had one son Patrick James McKay Jr.
, who took over the business becoming a master photographer.

married Jane Stahl and they had nine children who all worked a the McKay's Studio growing up, Pat lV, Mike, Leo, Joe, Victor, Dennis, Danny, Gerald and Bernard.

1st, 1997, after his death his wife Jane Stahl McKay and her son Pat McKay lV continued to run the business until they closed in 2001..
On January 1st 2012 the building was bought by Leo McKay who retired from the Maysville Police Department after 22 1/2 years of service and reopened the business..
