My inspiration for this page is my Dear Grandmother, Mattie Lou Wood.
She was a Mother to one Daughter and three Sons.
She was a very talented and skilled woman who taught and inspired her four children to embrace their individual creative abilities.
Mattie Lou was an incredible seamstress, delectable cook, and a devoted Christian who never failed to offer a hug and a kind word to anyone in need.
Loving but firm, she was a true Southern Bell who always showed manners, compassion and hospitality to anyone she encountered.
Although she has gone home to be with our Lord who she dedicated her life to, She still lives on through her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Fortunately for me, I am the youngest Daughter of her only Daughter and I definitely inherited a fair dose of her creativity and talent.
I have so many memories of my Grandmother using her skills to help me and others.
From altering my wedding gown, to cooking homemade corn bread, to making angels out of wire, pearls and peach seeds! There was never an end to the numerous projects that she kept going at all times and I'm certain that I picked up right where she left off! Mattie Lou was and still is a very inspiring woman to me and I will continue to use my creativity and inherited skills to honor her throughout my life.
