丸亀市猪熊弦一郎現代美術館（愛称MIMOCA／ミモカ）は、1991年、全国でも類を見ない“駅前美術館”として、丸亀市ゆかりの画家・猪熊弦一郎の全面的な協力のもと開館しました。70年に及ぶ猪熊の画業を顕彰するとともに、市民の芸術文化の振興をはかることを使命として、市民が気軽に訪れ憩える駅前ならではの開かれた美術館を目指しています。猪熊本人より寄贈を受けた約2万点に及ぶ猪熊作品を所蔵し、常設展にてご紹介するほか、現代美術を中心とした年数回の特別展を開催しています。また、講演会やコンサートなどの多彩なプログラムや、子どもたちの豊かな感性と創造力を伸ばし育むことを目的とするワークショップなどの教育普及活動も積極的に行っています。
