Jim always has a selection of two hot soups to go, and a wide variety of home made from scratch soups to take home! Between the two, Marty and Jim have over 70 years of food service experience. . . Jim was born and raised in local Copake, NY. After high school, Jim joined the Coast Gaurd. Once he left the Coast Gaurd, he attended the Culinary Institute of America, and has an extensive resume since. He worked at high class resturants in cities such as Albany and Washington D.C. In the area, Jim has held jobs at some of the finest resturants around. Most notably? The Red Lion Inn. After his tour at the Red Lion Inn he was the Executive Chef at Devonshire Estates in Lenox. After his tenure there, he went into retirement. His retirement vacation didnt last long, when he partnered with Marty to open Marty and Jim's.. . Marty was always been passionate about the sandwiches she buids for her customers. She started her career as a deli clerk in her home town of Dobbs Ferry, NY at a up and coming business called Sip 'n Snack. When Marty moved up here she quickly continued on her career path working at local small business' such as The Olde Egremont Country Store in North Egremont, MA. When she left to try a new adventure at Taft Farms, where her and Jim met, she carried her skill set with her. Things didn't work at Taft, but her and Jim did. Marty brings her experience and knowledge of deli work from her career going all the way back to her days of a part time high school student. Her resume has brought in some delicious sandwiches, most notably her version of the Italian which includes ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese with oil, vinegar lettuce tomato and you can add Pepperoncini peppers and mayo for a real Italian experience!. .
