OUR VISION:.

The Marshallese College Student Association, previously known as the “M̗anit Club”, is committed to working with organizations to carry out educational services and programs to retain, develop, and assist Marshallese students in achieving their highest educational potential.
It is also committed to learning and sharing the 4,000-year-old Marshallese culture and heritage with members of the Marshallese and non-Marshallese communities.
We aim to maintain an association that builds a team of RMI leaders who are also dedicated to serving the Marshallese community in Northwest Arkansas.

OUR STORY:.

The Marshallese College Student Association, previously known as the M̗anit Club, began at the Northwest Arkansas Community College, in the Fall of 2014.
As noted in our Vision Statement, the purpose of our organization was to bring together Marshallese college students and to demonstrate the importance of pursuing a higher education to the Marshallese community, especially with the Marshallese high school students.

Near the end of 2014, we felt the group needed to expand and include other Marshallese college students in the region.
We became a regional organization the following semester, and our group grew to more than fourteen.
Fast forward to 2017, we now have 30 + Marshallese who are either attending the Northwest Arkansas Community College, the University of Arkansas, or Ecclesia College.

Since our establishment, the organization has participated in many community events and social activities; MCSA hosted more than three college enrollment fairs, the Marshallese Youth Empowerment Day in 2016, and gave out school supplies to more than 350 Marshallese students at the NWA Marshallese Community Back-to-School.
It is a disappointment that we did not share those moments with you all, but we will soon be utilizing this page more often.

MCSA has so many other events and activities coming up.
Last year in 2016, at the Marshallese Youth Empowerment Day, we launched our “Rise Above” initiative to motivate more Marshallese students to rise above their expectations and the issues that are affecting the Marshallese community.
We will continue the initiative this year as we try to push more young people to pursue higher education.
