Detailed description is The Marion County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) of Oregon is an organization of trained community volunteers working toward the goal of supporting emergency healthcare resilience. The overarching MRC goal is to improve health literacy and work towards increasing disease prevention, eliminating health disparities, and improving public health preparedness. . . Our community-based volunteers reside and serve in Marion and Polk Counties, Oregon. Our goal is to develop a MRC medical support unit; training to respond to local medical surge needs in times of disaster.. . We are volunteer-led, and supported by Marion County Emergency Management staff, in partnership with local agencies, health care organizations, and businesses.. . Volunteers are needed now: licensed medical, dental, veterinary, counseling, allied healthcare professionals, (active, students, and retired) to serve as health workers. . In addition, adult community members and professionals can fill many non-licensed, support roles for areas of Operations, Communications, Logistics, and Education. .
